LEVEL 2 MUSIC PRODUCTION, MUSIC PERFORMANCE & MUSIC BUSINESS
RSL LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA MUSIC PRACTITIONER
Length: One year, full time
Our bespoke Level 2 course is the first stage in the SoundSkool journey and is designed for students who have some previous experience with music performance and/or production.
The course offers a broad overview of a range of music education topics that will develop your musicianship skills, broaden your business knowledge and aid your understanding of how to earn money in the music industry.
Project areas include remixing, radio/podcast production and live music performance. You will also develop your music production, songwriting and performance skills, working both individually and as part of a group.
On The Level 2 Course You Will Learn:
- Intermediate level music production techniques
- Intermediate level music performance techniques
- To develop your music theory, piano and guitar skills
- To perform a solo/group set as part of a live music event
- How to develop your songwriting skills
- The different ways money is made in the music industry
- How to start a career in the music industry
All Students will:
- Complete both practical and theoretical assignments
- Work on individual and group projects
- Learn about different ways money is made in the music industry
- Develop your music theory
- Have access to 1:2:1 and group vocal, keyboard and guitar lessons
- Learn how to start a career in the music industry
- Have the opportunity to showcase their work at regular SoundSkool events
- Network – connecting with established music industry professionals at SoundSkool’s renowned masterclasses, as well as going on industry trips and attending seminars & workshops
- Undertake industry work experience
Students will also undertake GCSE and/or functional skills in English and/or Mathematics if they have not yet achieved Grade 4 or above
What Do I Need To Apply?
5 GCSEs grades 2-3 including English & Maths GCSEs
OR a level 1 music qualification alongside functional skills
Level 1 in English & maths
OR demonstrable beginner/ intermediate music knowledge & skills alongside functional skills English & Maths at Level 1
