We’re all over the moon to welcome Phillipa Cookman to the SoundSkool team as our new Vocal Coach! Phillipa brings over 20 years of professional performance, teaching, and industry experience to the college, inspiring our next generation of singers to develop confidence, technique, and stage presence.
An accomplished vocalist, guitarist and songwriter, Phillipa has performed across the UK and internationally, including tours with The Sound of Springsteen, and live shows in Dubai, South Korea, Israel, France, and the USA. Her studio credits range from backing vocals for Tina Cousins to featured work on the Japanese anime The Count of Monte Cristo soundtrack.
Alongside her busy performance schedule, Phillipa has built a dynamic teaching career. She’s also the founder of The Singing Guitarists – a creative coaching community that supports singers and musicians of all levels to grow in both skill and self-belief.
A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music (Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Theatre, Distinction) and Bath Spa University (BA Hons in Commercial Music), Phillipa combines technical expertise with a warm, student-centred approach. Her experience with young musicians and community projects such as Girls Rock London reflects her inclusive ethos and commitment to music education for all.
We’re so excited for Phillipa to bring her energy, knowledge and industry insight to SoundSkool, supporting our students to find their voice – both on and off stage.
Welcome to the SoundSkool family, Phillipa!
