Pamela Smith Christie

Head Of College

Pamela is a senior educational leader and former professional performing artist with over 20 years of experience working across the UK and Southeast Asia. Her career began in the performing arts, where she trained, performed, and taught across a range of disciplines before moving into arts education full time. She has led vibrant creative faculties and championed the role of the arts in empowering young people, particularly those whose talents thrive outside traditional academic pathways.

As a Director of Creative Arts and later a Deputy Head, Pamela has designed inclusive curricula, developed pastoral and safeguarding systems, and supported the holistic development of students in diverse international school settings. She holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including an MSc in Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education, an MA Music Psychology in Education, and the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). Her leadership is rooted in creativity, empathy, and a strong belief in education as a transformative force.

Pamela is passionate about building educational environments where students feel seen, heard, and inspired to express themselves. At SoundSkool, she brings together her deep love for music and the performing arts with her commitment to inclusive, student-centred education.

Pamela loves working at SoundSkool because it brings together everything she values—music, identity, well-being, and education – in one dynamic space. She is inspired daily by the creativity and authenticity of SoundSkool learners and staff, and she is proud to be part of a community that genuinely celebrates individuality while empowering young people to pursue their artistic and academic goals.
