This week, our Music Production students had the opportunity to step into a professional studio environment, spending the day at Rising Tide Studios in Hackney for an immersive, hands-on industry experience.
The visit was designed to give students real insight into the full studio process, moving beyond the classroom and into a space where creativity and technical skill come together in real time. Throughout the day, students worked across recording, production, and post-production, developing their understanding of how professional sessions operate.
Students had the chance to record vocals in the booth, track live drums and instruments, produce their own material, and explore the technical side of engineering. They also spent time learning about mixing and mastering, gaining valuable knowledge about how raw recordings are shaped into finished tracks ready for release.
Being able to create music in a professional environment helped build confidence, spark creativity, and deepen their connection to the industry they are working towards entering. Opportunities like this are a key part of the SoundSkool journey, ensuring our students don’t just learn about the music industry but actively experience it.
